Talked to someone who lives in a part of S Car that was affected by Helene. One thing that came up was the need to pay for fuel and other things in cash, something many people no longer carry much of, if any at all. Almost all registers are electronic and hooked into computer systems. When the power is out, so are cash registers. It's all manual like the old days.

Helene made me rethink essentials like having a charger pack for electronics and a charger adapter in addition to the other things.
