at this point the american public is so fucked up i don't even know if it would cost him votes or GAIN them because there is a certain uneducated portion of the voting public that actually sympathizes with him because he's hammered on things SO OFTEN that they are convinced it is just people trying to tear him down. like, they think "no one could possibly be that bad".
