It was an absolutely shitty era to be a female, and these fascists want to return to that terrible era. I was born in the middle of the baby boom, 1955, but early marriages and shotgun marriages were still very common fifty-plus years ago, when I graduated from high school. In fact, almost all the women I graduated with married by age 25. In the end, I was the lone holdout of the straight women in that graduating class who didn't bother with marriage at all. It hasn't been easy financially, but I have the peace of mind of not putting up with the life my mother and sisters had.
