31. Oof...that stings. My niece is 16

My mom said a lot of dumb shit to me that has messed me up beyond words, so that I’m an angsty Xennial. But, given that she had to get married and pump out kids before she could live her life (she’s a lesbian…definitely didn’t want to marry or have kids), she always said I could be whatever I wanted to be. So I’m about to embark on my second PhD after having a midlife career crisis and moving abroad. Life a life that makes you happy was the best advice she gave me.
Not sure she wanted me to move to another continent but that’s another matter haha
