I'll add my voice to those requesting that readers watch the entire video - but if you have to stick to an excerpt, start at 1:14, where BTC asks Marc about how to handle the inevitable continuation and escalation of the Big Lie.
Marc gives a very straightforward answer about Trump having purged anyone unwilling to be a complete sycophant from his closest circle, and notes that the Harris team is very aware of the tactics and malevolence of the Trump team, and they're prepared. At 3:06, Marc calls out the role of the major media outlets and their potential impact on voter perception on election night and after that.
Marc rightly notes that:
And all too often we have seen the media, in an effort to be even handed, create a false equivalence. And it is vital that in this period we are entering into, you not allow that to happen. When Donald Trump tells lies, do not cover them. When you have to cover them, open up by saying he is lying, and then end by pointing out he is lying. Do not allow this to become a back-and-forth between people who Donald Trump has sent to your networks to spew misinformation and someone else who is there to tell the truth. You really, really need to be serious about your obligation to democracy, because I think a lot of this, Brian, will rest in how the public experiences the information; and a lot of that will be mediated still through the mainstream media.
More good exchanges follow this, including BTC iterating on Marc's statements above. The whole vid is worth watching, but IMO this segment needs to be preserved and publicized as widely as possible.
Unfortunately, I have a strong sense that at least some large media outlets - CNN being one if I had to guess, but I'd love to be wrong - will play right into the GOP narrative and "fall for it" again. I don't think they're falling for anything - perhaps being a bit conspiratorial, but I think it's more willing participation than gullibility.
I hope that some outlets will do their actual jobs as watchdog journalists, and that the false narrative is checked and countered by fact.
