tRump's corrupt idea is that the Election Day votes get counted that night (tonight). If things were like the 2020 election in the middle of a Covid epidemic then more Ds would vote early than Rs. But it is not like 2020.
However, I think tRump didn't get the memo and is banking on Rs leading the polls early, hence a midnight cutoff would benefit him.
But elections don't work that way and they don't get to change the rules in the middle of voting and counting, though that does not figure in tRump's calculations. And it is still not like 2020.

Because more democrats vote early, and more republicans vote on election day (at least traditionally),

At least in PA, we had to wait a long time in a 2020 election for a Biden to pull ahead.
