According to this rumor, Trump would order the Treasury to use taxpayer dollars to purchase bitcoin - which would send the price of it soaring and thoroughly enrich those already owning it. Whether or not you currently regard bitcoin as a threat to fiat currency, it most certainly could, under Trump, become a debt risk factor pushing the nation toward default.
