think Propublica, think universities, think humanitarian aid groups. The president of Oxfam released a scathing statement about this saying something along the lines of how this is what every authoritarian regime puts in place. here's a gift link to an article in WaPo about it. The Dems narrowly defeated this a few days ago, but Republicans are planning on bringing it back for a vote when they have a majority.

there's an appeal process, but once the doors are closed, how are they going to fight it? where will the money come from, assuming they even stand a chance of winning. think about it, if the left tries to counter the right with Independent News sources that are relying on donations and are nonprofits, they can get shut down just for saying something the administration doesn't agree with.
