I've been giving the whole starter pack thing some consideration, and I don't know if I'd be inclined to put one together simply because I'd feel some responsibility for monitoring it. If someone decides they don't want to be on our master list here on DU, they can easily send me a DU email and I can remove them from the list, but on a starter pack, you have to block the creator of the starter pack to be filtered out of their starter pack. Quite a few members of our family are just getting to know Bluesky, and they are still figuring out the basics, so I'd hate to make things even more complicated for them.

I personally don't have an issue with my public account being circulated simply because it's a public forum to begin with and literally anyone can see my posts, but quite a few DUers are still hesitant about all of this.

That said, if people want me to put one together and specifically ask to be included in one, and we get a decent number of people interested to make it worthwhile, I'd be happy to put one together.

There's also a "starter pack" learning curve that could also be addressed - several members are curious about them.

What are your thoughts?

on edit: We can also just wait until Bluesky has the infrastructure to make starter packs private. They should eventually get to that.
