51. My impression was a "silencer" suppressed gun using subsonic ammo (quieter)...

....but that type of ammo is lower powered and might require manual sliding of the bolt, hence the unspent ammo at the scene, the gun tried to load and cock it but did not have the power, so he manually did it ejecting the half loaded shell in the process.
His calmness while doing so seemed to indicate a pro to me but maybe he just practiced a lot in the week before.
