(3,250 posts)67. I've been taking Warfarin for 30 years
I have always told my doctors that I would not give up leafy green vegetables, that they would have to adjust my medicine to my diet, not the other way around.
Warfarin (Coumadin) is not prescribed much any more. The newer blood thinners aren't Vitamin K antagonists, so no dietary restrictions.

Old people tend to bruise easily, especially if in poor health. Skin gets thinner as we age, more delicate.
