2. For the life of me, I don't understand why Ukraine didn't do this 3 years ago.

As well as invade, kill every Russian soldier and Transnistrian rebel, then withdraw and give it back to the Moldovans. I guess they were busy on their Eastern Front.

Go look at Transnistria on Google Earth - it's absurd. The east side of the Nistria River - at some points the territory is a mile wide at best. Mostly farms and hamlets. Tirasopol is the only town of any size - and it's only 130K.
