There should be no blanket law barring every citizen who has been convicted of a felony from holding office, voting, or serving on juries. If you want to disqualify them for cause on a case by case basis, then fine. Go through the process of showing why they should be disqualified from office, voting, or serving on a jury. But barring someone from those things when he’s 60 just because he got caught with a gram over an ounce of weed when he was 20 is lazy, stupid, and wrong.

There’s got to be a point in time where you let someone be an ex-criminal. Otherwise, every felony carries a de facto life sentence.
