No other flag may be elevated to a height above that of the U.S. flag.

I learned that in a squabble over the U.S. flag in our church sanctuary (against both the Flag Code and the United Methodist Book of Discipline). A previous pastor had allowed it. A new pastor who was the son of a service member was appointed and pretty promptly removed the flag, upsetting the conservative veterans we had in our church at the time.
