5. Maybe Trump was asking where Michele was.

After her speech at the Democratic Convention, I expect that Trump was looking for a way to insult her at the funeral.

Maybe Michele did not want to be in the same room with Trump, especially not seated near him. Barack feels obligated to follow protocol, but perhaps Michele does not share that feeling.
