And the County provides the first responders and coordination to all of them. The Malibu fire in 1970 lasted 8 days.
The County and assisting fire department then only worked to protect structures and major roads for evacuation, and let the fire burn itself out.
I can assure you the gender of the heads of the County Fire Department had nothing to intensity or damage of the fires back then or now.
Climate change, unregulated and mismanaged growth, and the lack of goat herds to eat down dry brush overgrowth has more to the intensity of coastal brush fires than DEI.
