Back in the day, it was hair loss treatments. Though still a thing, that doesn't elicit nearly as strong a primal response. The same story with wrinkle cream and weight loss gimmicks targeted to both genders. If there's money to be made from capitalizing on our innate fears and worries, they'll promo it endlessly. Always about the money. Always.

The helpful stuff you mentioned? Not nearly as much money in it, thus little ad time and space.
