It just seems very odd to me. Because the natural reaction would be at the last minute to try to do something in any accident. Which suggests like you said that they didn’t see it. I’m not saying it was done intentionally.

Probably the video is not going to show us everything also because the depth of field and everything else that may have been going on can be a bit distorted.
