I've been doom scrolling a lot lately. I'm sure most of you have as well. I've read a lot of awful shit but I came to the realization that all the shit I'm reading is, at its core, incoherent nonsense. It really is just shit. Yes, it awful in its cruelty and truly evil in many cases but at the end of the day it's all, almost totally, unconstitutional, shit.
Take the latest shit from the new transportation secretary about tying transportation funding allocation to the different states based on things like birth rates and complying with TSF's deportations.
Sorry, that's shit. That's not how that works. Congress decides where and how much is allocated to different states, not the Executive branch or some insane transportation secretary.

Read a very interesting article by Constitutional Law Professor from Yale Law School named Kate Stith. The key takeaway in my opinion is this but here:
The Appropriations Clause would appear to categorically enjoin the President and federal agencies to spend funds only as appropriated by Congress. Even where the President believes that federal spending is urgently needed, spending in the absence of appropriations is constitutionally prohibited.

In short, we need more fucking lawyers and we need lawyers with the spine to take it to these bastards.
The executive branch is trying to steal this country but the problem is they don't have any money to do it. It's not there damn money. It's our money and we need to act like it.
