It took me a while to figure out what was motivating them to expressly say they were fired for cause, since I don't think it is required for probationary employees. And stating that termination was for cause - when they fired every single probationary employee was an invitation to explore the actual animus. And then I realized that - assuming they had worked long enough to be eligible - termination for cause would make them ineligible.

I haven't heard about what is going on with applications for unemployment - but it is something to watch.
