Democrats have a strategy - they just have to execute it. [View all]
Tim Walz and Bernie Sanders have been going into Republican districts to talk to the voters there, because Republican Congressmen and Senators have refused to hold townhalls in their districts. Nature abhors a vacuum. There is a vacuum for Republican leadership and courage.
Not only should Democrats go into these red districts to talk to the voters, but they should do more.
They should recruit people to run against these Republicans now in Congress. Perhaps there was an unspoken agreement before now, but that needs to change. These cowardly Republicans need to feel the heat.
If Democrats cannot find a good Democratic challenger for these traitorous Republicans, then the Democratic Party should support any Independent challenger that chooses to run against the Republican incumbents. The voters need to know they are not powerless.
The problem is with Republican incumbents. They must be removed. Democrats should go as far as supporting primary opponents against these Republicans, even if it requires asking their Democratic voters to hold their noses and vote for a different Republican.
The strategy is in place and may be the only strategy left for the Democratic Party. We need to be pro-active and go into every Republican district in this country before the next election. We need to challenge these folks at the ballot box.
In my opinion, this is the best way forward at this time.
