(5,508 posts)but it may be the answer to the near future for Democrats. I love him to pieces, and the persona he puts out to the public. I love the fact what you see and what you hear from him is the down-to-earth truth to whom the man is... not some put-on facade.
For the sake of our democracy and our personal freedoms, it may be time to step back and take a backwards step where the presidency is concerned. It's obvious this country hasn't matured enough to accept a female or POC as president. If that is the case, as it seems to be, then I think Walz would be an excellent standard bearer for the Democratic party, and a good presidential nominee.
I just hate I had to write the above paragraph. After 275 years, and many other countries in the world already passing us, it seems like we would have grown up enough to get over gender and skin color. But evidently, there's something deep in the American psyche that just can't clear that hurdle. More's the pity for us. We have a lot of women and POC who are smart, intelligent, and good states people who would make the country proud. I'm just thankful that Walz, like, for example, Raskin, is one of ours.
