(37,102 posts)which didn't end up being really good enough. I think she's 20/20 in one eye, but less in the other. She can still pass the driver's license test (I think), but she is increasingly having difficulty seeing. And she refuses to wear reading glasses - and it is surprising how frequently she asks me to read something because she can't read it. Drives me nuts. I think she's getting to the point where she is willing to get glasses - and at least they won't be as expensive as they used to be. Her vision was so bad pre-cataract surgery that we had to get very pricey high index lenses. Unfortunately, even though I kept telling her that she needed to get glasses before the end of 2024, since we weren't getting vision insurance anymore, it wasn't until January that she said, I think I want glasses. Ugh.
I'm going to test out monocular vision when I go diving this summer, by getting that arrangement in my diving mask. That way I won't get permanent surgery and then wish I hadn't.
