In reply to the discussion: A tribute to Zelensky [View all]Irish_Dem
(70,344 posts)7. Samplegirl, you have transformed yourself.
I have been a long time fan of your work.
Your work is beautiful and full of emotion, usually joy and happiness.
Simple drawings of flowers, animals, etc.
A healing component to your work as well.
In the past few months your work has changed.
There has been an edge to it.
It was like you were struggling with something.
And there was more complexity.
Then today you post your first portrait that is a dramatic change from
your other work. The very serious emotions of the most courageous man of our times.
A man who is a true leader, who will die for his people.
Who is moving heaven and earth to save them.
All of this on his shoulders.
You painted all of this in your portrait.
I was stunned and overwhelmed by the portrait.

You're ready. When I used to draw and paint, I did mostly portraits. You are definitely ready.

That was my reaction also. The character of Zelenskyy and the caring of SampleGirl.

Captures much of the man. I'm impressed. Please, for yourself, do more portraits if you have the slightest interest
