The change in you. (You are not alone. Other people here doing creative work of all kinds
have shown their distress as well. )
Yes the sweetness, joy, and then attempts get some humor, irony, etc. in your drawings.
Then I saw more edge, distress.
Then with the portrait you went deep right into the heart of courage in a noble proud man
facing unimaginable danger and hardship for himself and his entire country.
Yes his love shines through.
I think this portrait was trying to come out. It was there waiting to be drawn.
A departure from your other work. It was like you were working towards it.
I think it will be cathartic for you.
Thank you for sharing and the work you do here.

You're ready. When I used to draw and paint, I did mostly portraits. You are definitely ready.
