Trump's "Liberation Day" Video Repeats False Claim of Big, New Honda Plant [View all]

Happy Liberation Day to all who celebrate! Truth be told, many Americans are not celebrating higher costs on the horizon due to Trump's tariffs.

Equally disturbing is the constant plummeting of their retirement portfolio in the unstable stock market under Trump is experiencing. Trump is branding his tariff onslaught on April 2nd as "Liberation Day," despite already previously declaring both November 5th, 2024 and January 20th, 2025 also to be "Liberation Day."

In an attempt to sell his tariffs, Trump has posted a new video on his Truth Social account and to the official White House Twitter account, quote posting his message that, "Today is Liberation Day." However, the video has commentary acknowledging "short term pain" while welcoming Trump's tariffs.

Time will tell if this pain is "short term" or not. In another part of the video, Trump claims, "Honda is building one of the biggest plants," a claim that Honda has denied.
