Took me 23 years to realize what he’d been doing and then figure out how to get out. I’m still working on the damage he caused me (jettisoned him in fkg 2003!)

The DSM-5 actually lists this as one of the truly incurable mental illnesses. There is no treatment and you can only educate yourself to recognize and avoid these people.

Or put them in prison and throw away the key—hopefully before he dies of something too fast to impart a lesson to the bastard.
