Easter is when ICE could easily hit church services -- as Trump promised sometime during his first week, changing the rule on attacks on "sensitive" venues. It disrupts whole communities, and knocks out one of the few sanctuaries options that still has moral valence. An ICE raid on churches would prove that nothing can stand up to trumpian.

Hopefully I'm wrong. But when that change to the "sensitive" location rule came out, did you see any of the rabidly conservative Roman Catholics who are Trump's strategists speaking out? No -- because they don't think that the kinds of parishes that are sanctuaries deserve the kinds of protections that their denominations get.
