you might remember my daughter, mini manda ruth from about 15 years ago, she is barristering at catholic school [View all]

She works for a mobile espresso company and has been at this school for a few functions - including today. She keeps texting me, my punk rock, alternative, sax playing daughter has been listening hard to what is being said today, and she is excited for the new pope. "mom - he is pro immigrant, pro gay rights, and very pro working class according to what I'm hearing. Everyone is overjoyed".

Although she is working, she said that she is keeping her head down and just listening, finding the discussion enlightening. For what it's worth, apparently the feeling is an American pope would never have been appointed until America was in political and economic decline. And it's a big big big middle finger to the orange nightmare. All this could be scuttlebutt, just repeating what we were talking about. I thought it was indeed interesting.
