... very common, now. I saw Rachel Maddow requires we buy a ticket, also. I remember when the appearances were free - you went to the location (usually bookstore) and bought the book; the signing, chat, and photo (with Jimmy Carter, for example) were free. Additionally, I know some people have a sign saying photos are $$.$$ extra!
