The cult is so driven by hate (projection) that they are willing to lose bigly to "own the libs" and people who "look different".

Flanders and Swann put it plainly

Mud, mud, glorious mud
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood

And there let us wallow in glorious mud

Many people would rather wallow than work as a team.

Even some "smart" people would rather be "right" than successful. Success is a team effort. Even the damn rich need customers.
