If one believes there is a loving God (and at least 3.66 billion do) reading 2,000 year old scripture as the Word of that God does matter, however. IF what's concerning is having people who do believe end times crap running things, then the only people who will get hurt will be the people who follow the people running things. The large majority of the U.S. will witness a lot of ugliness, refuse to fear or go along with it and, when their common decency decides, they'll do what it takes to rid themselves of this poison. How that unfolds we don't know yet, it might or might not be all that dramatic, and it might take the next year or two, but you can be sure the People of sanity and decency outnumber those "running things." They just showed themselves on Saturday, and they who showed up have millions more who are in their corner and we'll have to trust them to act in the interests of liberty and justice for all. Reality doesn't have an audience; it's neither episodic nor a movie. So even as narratives get spread as "news," what matters is that humans -- Americans -- act on each other's behalf and not as puppets of fearmongers and mammon/power worshippers.
