Ditto.

Our generation has been on quite a roller coaster ride, trying to improve our country by moving away from hundreds of years of a slave culture mentality. Top that off with "We're the best. We are the shining light for others," while we engage in war after meaningless war for "self-protection" only to be attacked by a handful of countries with no air force, leading to more war based on lie after lie.

Now we have fascism.

It makes you hope for a heaven. Based on the days baby boomers have remaining on this planet, we have to try to create our own idea of shangrila, which, to be true to our generation, would include peace, kindness, and conscience while helping others in need as best we can manage.

That said, I've self-deported to a country that lives up to my idea of how Jesus wants me to live, and that doesn't involve being immersed in the abject evil that's at the forefront of US politics today.
