I don’t expect democrats to legislate any victories against trump or right-wing extremists. I would like to see some sort of unified message worthy of a resistance party. Also, some effort to educate people about effective, non-violent resistance would be great — and empowering. Lastly, republicans are using fear to intimidate everyone. We should be teaching people how to overcome fear and take action.

There are many examples of effective community organizing in response to authoritarians. Barack Obama used to talk about, “Fired up! Ready to go!” — democrats should be stirring up the sh*t and leading some kind of response/resistance. Jaysus, they haven’t shown me anything to believe in. We have dry powder and a passive, frail leadership. We deserve so much better.
