...if you don't bring economic pain, until you can bring electoral pain, there's no way to check these folks. Democrats should boycott Texas based businesses, one of which, American Airlines, is a business that's very margin sensitive. You don't think that company won't try to influence Abbott and the Republicans if they're losing millions each day?

What about talking about encouraging black and brown talented athletes to consider not going to colleges in Texas. They don't have to make a public stand, they just have to take their talents to a state that respects people like them.

The legislators who left Texas eventually had to come back. Their absence afforded those who don't like what Texas is doing to come up with plans/proposals that will force the Republicans away from their gerrymander. If there's no pain point for these folks, they will not give a damn.
