but they DO believe they have a divine mandate. And to achieve that mandate, they believe they can commit any crime, break any commandment, commit murder and more and God will forgive them... because they're doing it for "Gawwwd"....

I hate to say this, but one thing that has happened to me since trump in 2016 and beyond is that I lost any faith at all in ANY gods. I once counted myself as spiritual, and I've had a real crisis of faith. If there were any kind of higher power, why would It allow such a beast to do the evil he does and get away with it? It has truly caused me upset I can't even describe, worse than when I left the Christian church decades ago.
