...is they don't give a damn about anybody but themselves and their filthy rich overlords. And anybody who believes Schumer's Disgraceful Eight, which included his OWN WHIP (Durbin) simply mutinied him, I have bridge in Brooklyn that's an absolute bargain.

When they look at the polls and see they're doing worse with voter the Republicans, a fair amount of that total comes from fellow Democrats, fellow Democrats who are tired and frustrated of things like what ended the shutdown: capitulation with no meaningful forward to achieve what the resistance was about.

These Democrats weren't willing to let strong electoral victories soak in as leverage before throwing in the towel less than a week after those results.

Thune will give them their vote, and will be another act in an ongoing piece of Kabuki theater.
