Even if by some miracle they are released, Trump will not be removed from office- if attempting to overthrow the government wasn't enough of an offence, child rape won't matter.
It will shame Trump? -Sociopaths do not feel shame
Reduce support for Republicans? The cult is fully indoctrinated; they voted for a felon with 34 convictions and Congress persons who have repeatedly screwed them over. As long as there is an "R" after the name, Republican voters will support them.

Yes, there will be some satisfaction in confirming what we know but overall, there will be no significant change in the status quo
