It’s kinda formulaic evil: there’s elite gate-keeping that these turds in tech and oligarchs engage in, destroying the planet, the public sector, social safety nets, education and journalism.

And then this totally phony and manipulated mob “populism” via that collection of odious media outlets you mentioned. Trapped in between are all the federal workers that turd Russel Vought wanted traumatized, public health officials like Dr Fauci and other honest people they embattle.

They are as (if not more) potent than Fox News. I feel almost nostalgic for the days when Fox was the main organ of poison.

And that sense is worsened at the thought of it all (including text like this) synthesized and made somehow empty and objectionable by AI. It’s endlessly awful because those things would learn to mimic humans and be insistently “human”, at which point they will at least destroy the social web ending the nightmare.

Anyway bots are not worse than influencing as a profession. That’s such an inane idea. It’s prettifying the notion of herding.
