I remember watching them on Ed Sullivan's "really big shoe." My older brothers knew that they had visited then-Cassius Clay's training camp as he prepared to fight Liston for the title. Years later, I learned that John was was the only person with a quicker wit than Ali .... when he said, "You're not as dumb as you look," John responded, "No, but you are." Behind me I have an autographed picture from their meeting.

When LPs were The Thing, I collected all of their albums I could. The European and Japanese were different than those released in this country ...... actually, so was the movie Yellow Submarine. And of course there were bootlegs, etc. If one includes post-Beatles releases such as the Plastic Ono Band, I had 157 different albums, now in my son's collection.

Of course I like other artists. But the Beatles made things better back then, in a way no other group did.
