“Megalomania describes an obsessive desire for power, wealth, or fame, characterized by delusions of grandeur, inflated self-importance, and exaggerated beliefs about one's own abilities or status, often seeing others as inferior tools. While not a formal diagnosis today (replaced by Narcissistic Personality Disorder), it reflects a tenuous grasp on reality, a need for control, and a potential for grandiose schemes, seen in historical figures and fictional villains.”

This is fucking insane. When does this all stop? He is comparing himself to George “I can not tell a lie”
Washington?

I keep thinking about the child’s story of “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”

"The Emperor's New Clothes" is a famous folktale by Hans Christian Andersen about a vain emperor tricked by two swindlers who pretend to weave him magical clothes invisible to the stupid or unfit, leading him and his court to parade naked in public until a child points out the truth, revealing themes of vanity, pride, and the courage to speak truth to power. The story serves as a cautionary tale about groupthink and the fear of appearing foolish, where everyone lies about seeing the non-existent clothes to protect their reputation, until the innocence of a child breaks the illusion.
