53. Impeaching Trump is a liberal pipe dream.

While so many liberals seem to think it would prove that "the system works," in and of itself impeachment is mostly just pathetic. The system quite obviously has failed. Voters have elected Trump President. TWICE. If you think justice is coming for Trump, you haven't been paying attention to the Epstein case, or to the litany of pardons Trump has issued to pretty much every misanthrope on the planet. That's really how you say "the system working" in Eliteist.

Trump has already been impeached twice. What did it accomplish other than a lot of hot air and expense? Politicians always use the sleight of hand where they make some people (perhaps a majority) believe that bloviating is the same as taking action. I think that folks fall for it because they SO want to believe in the system, but it's exactly the opposite. It's just a bad reality TV show (ok, all reality TV is. bad). Politicians are usually anything but courageous, and their default position is to duck any and all responsibility. I'm sure it really "showed him" when Trump wasn't convicted by the Senate. He's not going to be convicted next time either. But even if he were to be, then J.D. Vance becomes President. What a win that would be.

The only things that will get rid of Trump are things that liberals don't even want discussed, like getting Robespierre-ed. And even then, what comes after Trump and anyone else who might pay the head tax, will probably be worse. Only rather drastic systemic change might cure this disease, but from where I'm standing we appear to collectively lack the bandwidth for that. At least for the foreseeable future.
