you have to request for an absentee ballot every year. I went in to check on my status in January and found they had dropped me from the request list, so I applied again. I just checked it an it says I am good until December of this year.

And the other thing, it's way, way to easy to get into someone's voting information. All you need is their name and D.O.B. Then you get a warning to make sure you're on scout's honor that you're only reviewing your own file.
