It's hard not to compare the US vision for Gaza [View all]

as being similar to what existed in Cuba before Castro. Casinos and hotels and places for the wealthy while the people had nothing. Organized crime in Cuba then and Organized Crime now for Gaza. There is a large organized crime problem in Israel and some of that has involved influence within Likud.

Anybody still naive enough to think that Crumb The 1st and Netanyahu are not operating as mob families probably sees no contradiction in them telling the Iranians to "throw off the yoke of oppression" while maintaining that yoke on the Palestinians. Indeed one can justifiably make the point that Crumb the 1st is doing everything he can to saddle the average American citizen with as much oppression as he can in order to solidify his ongoing implementation of fascism.

In 1952 when Batista was doomed to electoral failure he fomented a coup against the sitting President and pre-empted the elections. He then got big help from the US, suspended the Cuban Constitution and began a spree of repression and murder of those who spoke against him. The scale of inequity in Cuba became staggering with over 70% of the arable land owned by foreign interests.

"To quell the growing discontent amongst the populace—which was subsequently displayed through frequent student riots and demonstrations—Batista established tighter censorship of the media, while also utilizing his Bureau for the Repression of Communist Activities secret police to carry out wide-scale violence, torture and public executions. These murders mounted in 1957, as socialist ideas became more influential. While exact numbers are unclear, estimates of the death toll attributed to Batista range from hundreds to up to 20,000 victims."

So as he slaughtered away he was snuggled by the US and the Mafia.

But now we turn to Gaza and anybody would be hopelessly naive to think that the very powerful crime families in Israel aren't in bed, at arm's length perhaps but still there, with the "vision for Gaza" and the corrupt criminals heading the US and Israeli governments. Prosecutions of old heads of the families may drag on but that is often more about a power struggle than any government being virtuous.

The massive expansion of their organized crime operations into other countries and spheres continues nonetheless and a US President hooked to Russian mob money for years is hardly operating as someone who has turned pious. Netanyahu wants nothing more than to stall off his criminal trial and so even if Iran collapsed today he will find a new "threat to Israel" to use as justification for further war.

"Meet the new boss............Same as the old boss".
