10. Having followed politics since I turned 18 during Watergate

Monday

We both have witnessed the decline of American values in the political sphere.
Trump is manifestly different political animal than anyone we have seen. No need to regurgitate the endless examples. The existential dread you feel is wildly shared by many of our age.
Never one for conspiracy theories but I'm beginning to wonder.
Recovering from surgery, I watched the entire 2016 Republican convention. Pain killers made it easier to watch. But what really stuck with me was at the very end. The very last song played made the hair stand up on the back of my head, made my skin crawl.
Sympathy for the devil, Rolling Stones.
It felt ominous, very dark. Just thinking about it makes me queasy.
Your not wrong in your assessment.
