Yesterday

America continued missions ("no-fly zones"/ Operation Southern Watch) throughout the intervening years between the Gulf War (1991) and the 2003 invasion of Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom).

Longer than that if you count all the weapons the U.S. sold to the middle east.
