Iran may very well cease being a functional state (it was already on the edge). However, at the rate that both the US and Israel are burning through weaponry, it may very well be a Pyrrhic victory. The Fifth Fleet is going to limp out of this victorious, but the Lincoln (5th Fleet flagship) is probably going to have to spend months or more in drydock given the damage it's sustained.

I think the Chinese are evaluating whether an invasion of Taiwan is feasible at this point given that. Iranian oil was a part of China's oil strategy, but they have also been heavily investing in West African oil, and have some other reserves that they can tap.
