18. The insurance model is all about denying claims.

Yesterday

It is not fun - but maybe pay for the medication and then go after them in small claims court (it is not as intimidating as it sounds). Most states have self-help guides so you can file and present the case appropriately. The insurance company will fold before your case gets to a judge.
