why there is so much discussion about the legality of sinking a warship, yet there is not any discussion about the legality of Iran attacking unarmed civilian tankers.

It seems to me if attacking a possibly unarmed warship is a WAR CRIME, attack a civilian ship that doesn't have weapons should at least rate a comment.
