based on a pre-print article pending peer review-publication from a group in India. If I had a high risk HMPV family member (or patient) with pneumonia, that would be worth discussing with the treating clinician in addition to aggressive supportive care. But, for now, we are not well-positioned as this spreads. It is actually NOT new, but fairly recently identified (emergent) among human respiratory pathogens.
